Dr. Toby Shockey, Lead/Teaching Pastor
Dr. Toby Shockey serves as the Lead/Teaching Pastor at Crossroads Christian Fellowship. Combining a love for the Scriptures, a unique communication style, and a dry wit, Toby loves to speak the truths of God’s Word into the lives of people of all ages.
Toby values expository preaching and loves to teach God’s Word verse by verse. His favorite Scripture is Psalm 37:23–24, “The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand.”
Toby originally came to Crossroads in September 2020 as a guest speaker but then never left! He enjoys a cup of coffee, a medium rare steak, cold weather, the outdoors, and spending time with his daughter, Hannah. He is not a fan of green bean casserole (who is?).
In addition to serving at Crossroads, Toby is the founder of Mountain Time Ministries, an itinerant speaking and writing ministry. (www.mountaintime.org or tobyshockey.com) Toby was born in San Antonio, TX and grew up in church, raised by godly parents. Around the age of sixteen, he sensed a call to ministry, and “through many dangers, toils and snares” is grateful to be serving Jesus and His people today.
