Meet The Pastors

Dr. Toby Shockey
Lead / Teaching Pastor
Dr. Shockey serves as our primary teaching pastor, bringing a love for the Scriptures, a unique communication style, and a dry wit to the pulpit. He's committed to expository preaching — teaching through books of the Bible verse by verse — so our church grows in a deep, well-rounded understanding of God's Word.
His spiritual anchor is Psalm 37:23–24, a passage that has shaped his walk of faith. Dr. Shockey first came to Crossroads in September 2020 as a guest speaker, and the church quickly asked him to stay on permanently.
He was born in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in church, shaped by godly parents. Around age sixteen he felt God's call into ministry. Beyond his role here, he founded Mountain Time Ministries, an itinerant speaking and writing ministry, and has authored three Old Testament devotional books available on Amazon and at the church.
Outside of ministry, he enjoys good coffee, a medium-rare steak, cold weather, the outdoors, and spending time with his daughter, Hannah.
